Business in Banff is the official blog of the Small Business Association of Banff.We will be posting Articles, Links & Documents that we hope will be of interest to our membership.We encourage members to add their comments to posts. I would like to thank the many small businesses that have come forward with donations for Beat of the Words and all the other fundraisers as well.
I have had the opportunity to meet owners and managers because I took the time to hand out donation letters. That experience was worth it. I’m proud to live and work in the valley and send my BIGGEST thanks to those who small businesses who helped. You didn’t have to help but you did. Others because of budgets to promos could not support our fundraiser and that’s okay because I know that you would if you could. Our community of business and residents is amazing and once again I’m delighted to be a part of it.
Parking is a thorny issue. Most of the time the same ideas seem to be rehashed over. I would like to see if there are any members fresh suggestions as to how the lack of parking can be addressed.
My own is that the Bear Street car park re ‘refreshed’. By putting in a lower lever and an unroofed upper level we would gain around an additional 100 parking places. Due to the open aspect of the upper level it would have a low sillhouette and peoples views etc would not be impeded. This seems a much better use of resourse in the form of land than ithe town currently achieves.
